Director of Golf

Bill was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. As the son of a PGA Professional, golf was a big part of his life. Growing up in West Orange, his backyard was eighteen holes of the beautiful Essex County West course. Bill spent every day at the golf course experiencing many jobs such as working in the men’s locker room shining shoes, cleaning clubs, working in the golf cart barn and finally caddying. All of this led Bill to Saint Leo University in Florida where he was a member of the golf team and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduating from Saint Leo University, Bill began his golf career in Tallahassee, Florida where he lived for several years. Bill’s working experience in Florida includes Assistant Golf Professional, General Manager and Head Golf Professional at Winewood Country Club in Tallahassee. Returning to his roots in New Jersey, Bill went to work for Dick Smith Sr. at Woodcrest Country Club as the Teaching Professional. After seven years at Woodcrest, Bill was hired as the Head Golf Professional at Centerton Golf Club in Elmer, New Jersey. Eleven years later, he went to work for Evesham Township as the Director of Golf Operations at Indian Springs Golf Club. Bill eventually returned to Woodcrest in 2004 as the Head Golf Professional. Bill has worked at Woodcrest Country Club for a period of 16 years. He is passionate about maintaining the tradition of golf and the tradition of Woodcrest Country Club is extremely important to him. In his time away from the club, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife Kathy and visiting their sons and five grandchildren who reside in Seattle, Washington and Arlington, Virginia.
 

Jay Curry

Assistant Golf Professional

Jason “Jay” Curry began playing golf at the age of 3 and became serious about the sport at age 15. He prides himself by “living and breathing” the game of golf by weaving the game throughout his life. Golf has played a critical role through his high school and college experience as well as with his mentors throughout his work history in the golf business. He knows the title of Class “A” PGA professional, working and teaching our valued members, is of utmost importance. Jay has five years of experience as a Director of Golf and accrued six additional years as an Assistant Golf Professional at resort, public and private clubs. Most recently he served as Director of Golf at Riverwinds Golf and Tennis Club located in West Deptford, NJ. He was also the Director of Golf at Valleybrook Country Club located in Blackwood, NJ. Jay graduated from Coastal Carolina University located in Myrtle Beach, SC with a concentration in Business Management and a specialty in Professional Golf Management. During and after his studies in Myrtle Beach, he worked at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club and Legends Resort Golf Courses as the Assistant Golf Professional. In his time away from the club, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and his dog Mowgli, cooking on his Weber grill, enjoying a leisurely round of golf with friends, visiting his parents in Myrtle Beach and traveling to Disney World.
